This years NBA playoff first round has been and still is very competitive and intense. The 5th seed Washington Wizards made a statement defeating 4th seed Chicago Bulls (4-1) in their second, first round playoff series win in the last 10 years. Staying in the Eastern Conference we have the 6th seed Brooklyn Nets in a vigorous battle down 3-2 to the Toronto Raptors, this years turn around team who haven't been to the playoffs since 2008. Top Seed Indiana Pacers who stumbled into the playoffs now face game 7 against a seemingly opportunistic 8th seed Atlanta Hawks. Reigning champions 2nd seed Miami Heat making light work of the 7th seed Charlotte Bobcats sweeping them 4-0, as the Heat are trying to 3peat which hasn't been done since the 00'-02 LA Lakers.
In the Western Conference playoffs top seed San Antonio Spurs playing against the 8th seed Dallas Mavericks leading 3-2, as the Spurs try to win another championship in the Tim Duncan era. The 3rd seed Los Angeles Clippers in a thrilling series against the 6th seed Golden State Warriors heading to game 7, as the Clippers should be inspired to win after their bigot owner was banned from the NBA. The 4th seed Houston Rockets down 3-2 against the revamped 5th seed Portland Trailblazers, star center Dwight Howard facing another 1st round exit. Lastly a slugfest as the 2nd seed Oklahoma City Thunder grind it out with the 7th seed Memphis Grizzlies as they approach game 7.
